I have a pretty distinct style. My layouts are clean, simple, graphic and minimalistic. There are very few layers, not very many embellishments, and typically a lot of handwritten journaling. Even when I try to stretch, my layouts are still extremely Cindy.
Yet every once in a while, I can push *slightly* beyond my comfort zone. I was going through my pile of unscrapped photos and found three of Trevor painting. I didn't really have anything to say about them, other than the fact that Trevor loves to paint. Because the pictures and story weren't particularly important or insightful, I allowed myself to just play with the layout and not worry about the results.
I had a lot of fun making the title. The original letters were a variety of florals and stripes by Colorbok. I painted them with an off-white, let that dry, and then used the back of the paintbrush to add the colorful dots.
I used this sketch by Helen Croft.
Sometimes it's fun to just play!
Great job, Cindy!! :)
