The background paper is from BasicGrey's Wander collection and has airplanes on it. I wouldn't normally use travel-themed paper on a non-vacation layout, but I liked the way this looked. Plus I liked the subtle symbolism: through books, you can go anywhere.
All the strips and the journaling block were scraps from three very different BasicGrey collections: Kioshi (pastel floral/Asian themed), Oh Baby Boy! (pastel baby-themed), and Lemonade (bright summer-themed). I think they work together well.
I think I'm going to make a sketch based on this layout. I can definitely see myself using it again and again.
GREAT job! :) Love the line you wrote about the symbolism. Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteThe banners are absolutely adorable and I totally agree about the airplane paper.
ReplyDeleteOh, it IS a cute layout! I am such a sucker for banners! And what cute pics of Trevor!
ReplyDeleteGreat Page capturing one of my favorite milestones.
ReplyDeleteGreat job as always!!! I love reading or hearing about how someone chose the paper they picked! Love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I also think that the plane is perfect as would be most anything you can think of since with a book, everything is possible. It is a beautiful layout. How exciting...library. I can't wait until I can do these things with my grandson. I never took pictures like these with my own children but now have a second chance with him. Great job!

ReplyDeleteThis is my new favorite layout of yours, too! Love the way you put Basic Grey to use here. That background paper is perfect, both the subtle pattern and the symbolism. Cute pics of your sweet boy.
