Teaching Others

I taught professionally for 11 years, but I've been a teacher my whole life. Before I was ever in the classroom and after I left it... I was and am still teaching, as much and as often as possible. Part of why there are so many tutorials on my blog is that I love explaining what I know to others. The best part, of course, is when I'm able to see someone benefitting from my teaching.

Recently, I've "met" several women from around the world who asked me follow-up questions about my Angry Bird pinñta. Each has a son/nephew about Trevor's age who is crazy about Angry Birds and each was hoping to give him an awesome piñata for his party. It has been an absolute pleasure helping these women and learning more about them.

First, I heard from Pema. She lives in Bhutan, where she does not have access to crepe paper. She made this, her very first piñata, using napkins! Isn't it fantastic?! Her nephew loved it.

Next, I had many back and forths with Maria in Brazil. I'm still hoping to get a photo of her finished piñata.

Finally, I heard from Claudia in Florida. Here is her very first piñata. Amazing!

I love that I've been able to connect with crafters from around the world. Thank you so much to Pema and Claudia for sharing your photos with me! If anyone else has used my tutorials for a project, I'd absolutely love to see photos!

  5. How cool! Both turned out so great! One thing I have loved about blogging is finding friendships all over the world. You've really connected with people and brought joy to their celebrations too! :)
