Columbia was exactly how I remembered it. Trevor loved panning for gold, ordering sarsaparillas at the saloon, riding the stagecoach, and visiting the museum. He also loved the bag of candies we let him buy. It was a great day.

Columbia State Historic Park
When I was young, we visited Columbia State Historic Park fairly often. It was near the cabin my dad built. Whenever we had first-time cabin visitors, we'd take them to Columbia for some gold panning, delicious sarsaparilla, a ride in the stagecoach and a bag of old-fashioned candy. Steve visited Columbia as a child too, though not nearly as often as I did. We decided to take a detour on our last trip to Bear Valley and take Trevor to Columbia for the first time.
