We had everyone open their gifts simultaneously. It was great fun to watch them peer into their gift bags with expressions that changed from curiousity to confusion. Some noticed the brochure right away while others spent quite awhile studying the beer and beads. Eventually, everyone read through their choices and made their decisions. There will be 5 learning brewing and 4 learning beading. We're working on finding a date that works for everyone (a huge challenge- we all have such busy lives). It was fun putting this idea together and I'm confident that the classes will be just as fun!

Choose Your Own Adventure
Time to share the first of our homemade and/or creative gifts from Christmas. This is the gift that Steve and I gave to his parents, aunts, and siblings.
Our original idea was that the men would take a beer brewing class while the women took a beading class. But then we decided that it would be better to let each person choose for him- or herself which class they prefer. I designed a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' brochure using the logo from the book series that I loved so much as a kid. The brochure explained each class. We slid it into a gift bag along with a bottle of locally-brewed beer and an assortment of beads.

One of the best gift ideas I saw. Love it!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I would like to combine the two and learn beading while drinking beer, LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea Cindy!! I hope you'll share about the classes when you do them!! :) And I miss Sudwerks... they have some killer food too!! :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT idea!! I loveeeeeeeee it!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteClever! I love giving people choices! How fun! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!! :) I just did a little wiggle dance in my chair! My FIL and BIL have birthdays coming up, and they are always so difficult to buy for. It's a running joke that the guys in the family have gift cards from a few different sporting goods/hunting/gun shops that they pass back and forth between them for birthdays, Fathers Day, etc. I know Josh misses brewing his own beer, so getting them together to do that would be perfect for them all!! Once again, you've managed to hit one out of the park, Cindy! THANK YOU!! :)
