A Tin of Money Gift
Materials:
- an empty tin
- dollar bills
- scotch tape
Begin by taping the bills together, end to end. It's the same technique as for making the Dollar Bill Dispenser.
Accordian fold the bills so that they fit in the tin.
Tape the the end of the final bill in the stack to the bottom of the tin.
Tape the end of the first bill in the stack to the top of the tin.
Close the tin. You can wrap it, or add a ribbon or a bow, or give it just as it is. Who wouldn't want to receive a tin of money, right?!

ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I really don't like to give cash as a gift because it seems like you didn't care enough to go buy a present. But by giving it in a creative way like this (or some of your other ideas from previous posts) the recipient has a great gift AND can see that you DO care and are willing to spend a few extra minutes proving it. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteDo you use a special kind of tape? Something that won't ripe the bills?
ReplyDeleteIt's just ordinary Scotch tape. It peels off easily.

DeleteThank you! Very excited to do this for a family our business adopted. We have $400 I plan on giving the girls a box to open with 1's 5's and a few 20's. Mom will get $10's and 20's and a $100 at the end. Thanks again. We LOVE the idea of cash because now they can get EXACTLY what they want and most importantly, need.

DeleteIt works just fine! I've done the tin, the square Kleenex box one, pizza box is a huge favorite, and he dress shirts and bow tie!! all great!

DeleteSuch a welcome gift for a teen. I never thought that giving money was lazy or even close to that. I remember years ago when I was just maybe 12 or 13 we had an aunt who always sent us five dollars. It was heaven then I could buy what I wanted or maybe a shirt or records. or unless the person knows you Really well those presents can be just put aside
