Adornit Watercolor Paper Coloring Book

When I was at Snap Conference, my friend Christie of Ritzy Parties gave me some Adornit goodies to try out. Fun! Here's a card I made....

... using the Girlfriends Art Play Watercolor Paper Coloring Book. I love this book because it is full of cute images that are the perfect size for cards. They're printed on heavy watercolor paper, which makes them ideal for paint, watercolor pencils, regular color pencils, markers, and more.

Any guesses where I was when I made the card?

(Hint 1: My hands were cold.)

I started by coloring in the image with watercolor pencils

(Hint 2: I'm sitting on bleachers.)

Then I used the water brush from my beloved Koi Watercolor Field Sketch Set by Sakura to blend the image.

(Hint 3: You can't tell, but I'm wearing two jackets.)

Here's the finished image, still wet. It dried in just a minute or so, despite the fact that I was at the ice rink when I made it! (You did guess ice rink, right? There's Trevor in blue, right above the painted image.)

When I got home, I trimmed the image and attached it to a blue card base. Couldn't be easier! And it was a great use of time as I watched Trevor's ice skating lesson. None of the other parents were painting rinkside; maybe I'll start a trend. These materials really did make it easy to create a card on-the-go.

  2. Yes, I knew where you were! Do I get a prize?!?!? :0) That does look like an easy way to make a card...only 2 problems: I hate to color and I don't make cards, LOL!!! I know, I'm a weirdo! But that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the finished product that others create... and your card is very cute!

  4. You always amaze me, Cindy. But I am not surprised that you take craft supplies along to Trevor's games/practices. And the card you made is absolutely adorable! I love it!

  6. These are adorable! I love the conversion to a card. De-stress while coloring and then make an easy card. Win win!
